University of Phoenix in Modesto, California: The Modesto Learning Center

Modesto, California is the site of the Modesto Learning Center, a University of Phoenix location dedicated to continuing education for working adults. Degree programs at the Modesto Learning Center include education, psychology, criminal justice, technology and human services. Business and nursing are two of the dominant programs offered at the Modesto Learning Center, and both are available at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Pursue a dual degree at Modesto Learning Center in Modesto, California.

California students who have the appropriate qualifications can pursue a dual degree. The program that leads to the Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration/Health Care Management is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Candidates for this degree take a range of courses, online via our Online Campus or at the Modesto Learning Center, from several fields of study. These courses include:

  • Economics for Managerial Decision Making
  • Operations Management
  • Financial Resource Management
  • Ethical, Legal and Regulatory Issues in Health Care
  • Leadership and Management in Nursing
  • Population-Focused Healthcare

A nursing practicum and research utilization project are also required.

The MBA/HCM program blends essential elements from both graduate degree programs. Students will learn to identify and analyze complex management problems while using advanced nursing theory and practice to enhance and support patient services and health care administration. The MSN/MBA/HCM program is 65 credits.

In addition to this dual degree, the Modesto Learning Center also offers MBA programs in Health Care Management, Global Management and Technology Management, among others. Graduate nursing programs include Master of Health Administration and Master of Science degrees in Health Care Education and Nursing for Nurse Practitioners.
