Mission Statement

The Institutional Review Board (IRB), as its fundamental responsibility, assures that research conducted under the auspices of the University must at all times protect the rights, privacy and welfare of human subjects who volunteer to participate in research studies conducted by members of the University community, including faculty, staff and students. In fulfilling this responsibility, the IRB shall be guided by the fundamental principles set forth in the Belmont Report. Applying these principles as its guiding purpose, the IRB will review and approve, disapprove or modify all research proposals concerning human subjects submitted by the University community.
